The MiKTeX CD-R is available again. It contains a "live" MiKTeX system (as at 2/21/2006).

Some not so important packages had to be omitted from the distribution in order to make it fit on the CD-R.

The latest update batch installs a new hyperref.cfg which sets hdvips as the default hyperref driver. See this bug report, for more information.

My apologies to those who still use MiKTeX on Windows 95. When I released some binaries early in January, I didn't realize that it would break Windows 95 compatibility: My new build system cannot produce Windows 95 executables. Only one person has complained. So I suppose that there aren't so many Windows 95 users left.

To make it official: Support for MiKTeX on Windows 95 systems has ended on January 4, 2006.

Did you notice the .aspx extension when browsing www.miktex.org? The project page is now an ASP.NET web application. The UI hasn't changed very much, but let me to direct your attention to a new table which shows status information about the MiKTeX package repositories. Please browse this table whenever you find it difficult to download packages from one of the repositories.
