I have learned today that the BaKoMa fonts collection is not free. Consequence: the bakoma package has to be removed from the MiKTeX distribution. This will happen with the next update.

Why do want to remove it? The license of the fonts hasn't changed since 1995:www.ctan.org/.../BaKoMa-AMS.FontsIt is allowed to use the fonts for non-commercial use. Does this mean it is "not free"? Have you asked Basil (the author) about his opinion? He is kind, e.g. he gave the permission to use his fonts for LyX's screen fonts. OK also only for non-commercial use, but he has to live from the font licenses. So please ask him if it is really necessary to remove his fonts.thanks and regardsUwe

BaKoMa fonts are unfree because of the "no sell" clause. MiKTeX isn't a commercial product. But I do not want hamper publishers to sell magazines/books together with MiKTeX.No, I haven't contacted Basil yet. BTW, the whole discussion was started on the TeXLive mailing list.
