The pdfTeX team has announced version 1.30.3 of the pdfTeX engine. I have decided against integrating this version into the stable MiKTeX 2.4 distribution.

Is there any particular reason that led you to that decision? And does the same apply to the Comprehensive Symbol List?

Yes/No. pdfTeX 1.30 requires manifold changes. MiKTeX 2.4 is an aged product, i.e., only bug fixes and small changes will be applied in the future. I have incorporated pdfTeX 1.30 into the 2.5 development branch.

Will MikTeX 2.5 use a tex file to config pdfTeX (as described in pdfTeX's manual) instead of pdftex.cfg?
